Q. What is the history of the Museum?

Q. When are you open?
A. The museum is open 10am from 8pm Tuesdays, 10 am to 5pm Wednesday through Saturday and 11am -5pm on Sunday. The museum is closed on Mondays and the following Holidays: New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve Day.
Q. Is there an admission fee to enter the Museum?
A. Children four years and under are admitted free. Students age 5 through college are $3, Adults are $6. Family rate is capped at $20.
Q. Is there a Museum gift shop? What is available? Can I buy art reproductions?
A. The museum has a Museum gift shop and an online store featuring limited edition, hand painted Smiths Folk Art collectables, jewelry, children’s toys, books, music and more.
Q. Are food and refreshments available at the Museum?
A. There is a self-service coffee shop in the museum. Coffee, tea, soda and snacks are available.
Q. What are the membership opportunities? Why should I become a member?

Q. Is the Museum handicap friendly?
A. Yes. The Museum is all one floor with handicap accessible doors and bathrooms. Wheelchairs are also available.
Q. Are Museum exhibits always the same or do they change from time to time? How can I find out about exhibits on display at the Museum?
A. Museum exhibits change from time to time. Please refer to our Calendar of Events for current and future exhibitions and programming at the Museum.
Q. Can you provide me with periodic e-mail or mail updates of what’s happening at the Museum?
A. As a member, you will receive periodic updates. Become a member!
Q. Are you looking for volunteers? How can I become a volunteer?
A. We are always actively seeking volunteers! To become a volunteer, please contact the the Museum at (507) 474-6626.
Q. How can I make a donation to the Museum? Do you recognize donors?
A. To make a donation to the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, please contact Bud Baechler, Board Member at (507) 474-6626 for a confidential visit. Patrons can be personally recognized or remain anonymous. Recognized donors are listed in our atrium on our Donor Recognition Wall.
Q. Is the Museum ever available for private or corporate meetings or events?
A. Yes! Please contact Pat Knee, Business Manager to find out how to book a meeting or event at the Museum.

Q. Can you tell me the value of my artwork?
A. The Minnesota Marine Art Museum does not conduct appraisals or authentications of artwork. The American Society of Appraisers can assist you with appraisals.
