WINTER KING (2009)

Winter King rides forth in the warm glory of the Christmas season astride the reluctant donkey.  This timely figure is inspired by the election of the first African American President of the USA.  Also, it evokes a long tradition in African tribal folk sculpture, namely that of a rider on horse or donkey, as a harbinger or messenger of things to come.

The friendly and humble demeanor of Winter King rings the bells of good cheer and waves a hearty noel.  Dressed against the winter chill, he will brighten the Yule time mantles of all who wish peace on earth and good will to all. Marilyn and I are very proud of this latest addition to our long line of folk santas.  Seasons greetings!

Chimney Santa, a timeless image of Santa is joyously rising from the chimney on Christmas Eve as in the Christmas Classic commonly known as 'Twas the Night Before Christmas'

"And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof the prancing and pawing of each little hoof.  As I drew in my hand, and was turning around, Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound. And laying his finger aside of his nose, And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;" - Clement Clarke Moore

Clement Clarke Moore wrote the poem on the Christmas Eve of 1823. For over a century and a half, families have loved and shared this youous poem of Christmas with their families.

MUSICAL GOAT SANTA (2005)

Inspired by the 18th Century Finnish Christmas Goat Joulupukki, the bringer of gifts, our Musical Goat Santa delivers presents at the Yule (Christmas) time. Yule, the Winter Solstice, is the longest night of the year. At Yule, in Europe, there was a big feast and after the feast, the Yule goat traditionally brought presents.

European customs surrounding the Winter Solstice were brought to the United States by immigrants from many lands. The giving of gifts moved from December 6th to the night before Christmas. Our Musical Goat Santa carries the gifts of musical horns to celebrate the season in style.

S. CLAUS (2007)

Family Christmas traditions (gift-giving by Santa) are passed on from one generation to the next. The decorated Christmas tree before the gifts underneath the tree are unwrapped, and the special Christmas dinner have been part of a traditional Christmas celebration. Today, gift-giving to children on the evening of December 24 is a symbolic action in the style of the wise men from the east with their gifts. With his full bead and long fur-trimmed red coat, S. Claus is bent carrying his heavy load of gifts to reward the good children. With a “Ho, Ho, Ho” he wishes all a very Merry Christmas!

SECRET SANTA (2008)

Created in the style of the OUR TOWN Collection, Secret Santa portrays the spirit of giving. The holiday tradition of Secret Santa involves the exchange of anonymous gifts and is a great way to share the spirit of giving through generosity, love and joy.

Secret Santa, also known as Kris Kringle, is derived for traditional Chrismas gift-bringers: the US version is named after Santa Claus while Kris Kringle originates from the German gift-bringer Christkindl, which means the 'Child Jesus' and also means 'gift' in the German language, (in Britain the traditional gift-bringer is Father Christmas).

In the spirit of Christmas and generosity our Secret Santa is dedicated to the millions of those who change the lives of people more than they may ever know just by a single Act of Kindness.

CHRISTMAS PRESENT SANTA (2006)

The Second of the Three Spirits in Charles Dickens Christmas Carol inspired our Christmas Present Santa. As Scrooge viewed this jolly Giant, glorious to see, holding a glowing torch, the Spirit announced that “I am the Ghost of Christmas Present” Dickens description of the bearded Phantom dressed in a green robe, with a genial face, sparkling eyes, cheery voice and joyful air sounded to us like a Christmas Santa. We called him the Christmas Present Santa as a play on words as this Santa carries a Christmas Present. Imagine Christmas Present Santa surrounded by holly, mistletoe, red berries, fruits, nuts, pies & pudding, turkey and many gifts on a snowy Christmas morning. Excited children are ready for the friendly gathering and the glow of a warm fire for the founder of Christmas was a child himself. A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
